15 Hindu college students of Karachi University injured after being attacked whereas taking part in Holi

Several Hindu college students at Karachi University had been injured after they had been attacked whereas taking part in Holi. This is the second such incident of assault on Hindu college students whereas taking part in Holi in Pakistan in two days.

By Press Trust of India: At least 15 college students from the minority Hindu group celebrating Holi on the University of Karachi had been injured after they had been attacked by some members of a radical Islamic scholar organisation, the second such incident in Pakistan in two days.

A University of Karachi official confirmed there had been an incident within the Sindhi division the place Hindus and different college students had been celebrating Holi and throwing colors at one another when some college students attacked and injured them.

“We are looking into the incident which is totally against our policies,” he stated.

An unnamed Hindu woman scholar, carrying a masks together with different college students, later launched a video on Twitter outlining your entire incident.

“The Islaami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) activists came and attacked students celebrating Holi in the hall. They beat some of us,” she stated.

“They also harassed female students and we had to leave the place. We had assembled to celebrate the Holi festival. I want the government and varsity to take action against those responsible,” she stated.

The assault on Hindu college students in Karachi was the second such incident in Pakistan since Monday.

At the Punjab University campus, 15 college students had been injured when IJT activists allegedly stopped them from celebrating Holi on the premises right here.

Holi, a competition of colors, is well known to mark the onset of spring.

The incident befell on the Law College of Punjab University on Monday, when round 30 Hindu college students gathered to rejoice Holi.

When contacted by PTI, IJT (Punjab University) spokesperson Ibrahim Shahid denied the involvement of its college students within the incident.
