NOIDA’S Elevated Road turned into a nightmare for four teenagers when their Jaguar car slammed into an unidentified canter truck, killing 19-year-old Falak Ahmad instantly and injuring three companions gravely. The accident, reported on January 20, has sparked outrage over reckless driving in the bustling city.
Ayush Bhati (18), Neel Pawar (18), and Ansh (18), residents of Sectors 47, 50, and 48 respectively, were traveling with Falak from Bhangel towards Agapur. The overtaking maneuver gone wrong led to a thunderous crash, severely damaging the Jaguar bearing plate HP 11 C 6330.
Police from Sector-49 were on the scene within minutes, coordinating ambulances to whisk away the victims. At the hospital, Falak’s death devastated her family, while the others underwent emergency treatment – one teetering on the edge of survival.
The truck fled the scene, prompting a full-scale police operation involving CCTV analysis and vehicle tracking. Residents of the affected sectors expressed shock, recalling similar incidents that have claimed young lives on these very roads.
Forensic teams are examining skid marks and debris to reconstruct the sequence. This tragedy amplifies calls for speed cameras, better signage, and driver education programs targeting youth. As post-mortem formalities proceed, Noida authorities vow swift action against the perpetrator, hoping to console a bereaved community.
