After formation of the new government under the leadership of Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, nearly five lakh 41 thousand 259 people have got employment in a span of 10 months from January to October, 2019. This includes five lakh 10 thousand 117 of rural areas got employment in rural areas, 20 thousand 502 people got jobs in government sector and 10 thousand 640 people got employment in industrial sector.
State Government has launched Narva, Garva, Ghurva and Bari Scheme for strengthening rural economy. Under this scheme, self-employment and employment opportunities are being created for people of rural areas. Many other schemes are also being conducted to create maximum employment opportunities for as many people as possible. Nearly 2 lakh 29 thousand 374 women got employment under Chhattisgarh State Livelihood Mission. State Government is purchasing fabric required for government use from State Weavers Cooperative Society. This decision of state government has provided employment to nearly 51 thousand weavers. About 32% of the population in Chhattisgarh are tribal people and their means of livelihood depend on forests. Large number of tribal people engaged in collection of minor forest produce have got employment through tribal self-help groups. To enhance income of tribal people in state, State Government is procuring minor forest produce through 3500 women groups in 821 haat bazaars. This has provided employment to nearly 42 thousand women.
Around 900 women groups of state have been given the assignment of stitching uniforms for school students, providing employment to nearly nine thousand women. About 35 thousand forest dwellers have got employment in making vermi-compost in cowsheds, about five thousand villagers got employment in collection of mahul leaves, manufacturing of fabrics, jute, ‘pattal and plates, and five thousand people have got employment in making tree-guard and baskets. Under National Rural Livelihood Mission, nearly 61 thousand 991 people have got employment in manufacturing of organic medicines, fertilizers, 22 thousand 762 people have got employment in non-agriculture sector. In the same way, the cowsheds constructed under Narva, Garva, Ghurva, Bari Yojana, women groups are manufacturing vermi-compost and fodder. Each cowshed has 14-15 women employed. Nearly 27 thousand 990 women have got employment in chowsheds, and in the same way, nearly 16 thousand women have got employment under Suposhan Abhiyan of Women and Child Development Department. These women earn nearly Rs 2750 every month from these jobs. In this way, nearly five lakh 10 thousand 117 people have got employment while empowering rural economy sector.
In this way, nearly 20 thousand 502 people got employment in government sector. In last 10 months, 5441 teachers, 4000 assistant teachers, 2767 lecturers in schools, 1200 assistant teachers in science lab, 410 english teachers, 306 teachers for English teachers and 1420 people have been recruited on various other posts. 3682 constables have been recruited under Police Department. Through CGPSC, recruitment has been done on 503 posts and recruitment is process for 1972 posts. 250 Patwaris have been recruitment in Revenue and Calamity Management Department, 228 Lab Technicians have been recruited under Health Department, recruitment has been done on 177 posts of Helper grade-3 and Computer Operators in High Court and 118 Sub-Engineers (Civil) have been recruited under PWD Department.
In the industrial sector, nearly 10 thousand 640 people have got employment opportunities in last 10 months. The facilities and encouragement that is being provided by State Government for industries has led to significant progress in industrial sector, while the entire nation is going through recession. In last 10 months, 441 got employed under 2 units of Ultra-Mega Industries, 1520 skilled labourers and 948 unskilled labourers have been hired. In the same period, 170 people in management, 551 skilled labourers and 194 unskilled labourers have been hired for a mega industry, and 73 management people, 192 skilled labourers and 431 unskilled labourers have been hired in seven major industries established in the state. In the same way, 274 small industries have been established, for which 570 people have been hired for management along with 1138 skilled labourers and 2146 unskilled labourer. Likewise, 248 people have been hired for management along with 493 skilled labourers and 836 unskilled labourers for 215 micro industries established in the same duration.
