Xiaomi has been teasing a new fitness product for a while and it has taken off the curtains finally today. As we speculated, it’s the successor to the Mi Band HRX Edition from a few years ago. However, it’s not called the Mi Band 4i but Xiaomi calls the Mi Smart Band 3i. The fitness tracker costs Rs 1,299 and will be available on sale on Mi.com. On paper, the Mi Smart Band 3i is essentially an upgrade to the Mi Band HRX Edition that’s based on the Mi Band 3.
The Mi Smart Band 3i is essentially a Mi Band 3 without the heart rate tracker. Similar to Mi Band HRX edition, the Mi Smart Band 3i will track steps, calories and will connect to a smartphone for showing notifications. Xiaomi will start taking pre-orders for the Mi Smart Band 3i from today, i.e. November 21.
As part of the fitness tracking functions, the Mi Smart Band 3i will track steps, calories and distance. The tracker will also monitor sleep but similar to the Mi Band 3, you will have to wear it while sleeping and it will automatically register your sleeping patterns. The tracker will sync all the information with the Mi Fit app and show the data in graphs and tables.
As part of the smart functions, the Mi Smart Band 3i will connect with your smartphone via Bluetooth and show you notifications on the display. The notifications will include texts from messaging apps and other apps. Users will also be able to see call notifications and similar to the Mi Band 3, they will be able to reject the call.
