During his USA tour, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti programme organized at the office of Consulate General of India in New York. In the programme, Mr. Baghel paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji saying that Shivaji Maharaj was the epitome of bravery and warrior spirit. Despite the smaller army, Shivaji Maharaj fought the battle with confidence. His life story gives us the lesson to be confident and self-reliant while going through challenging circumstances. Chief Minister said that we should learn from Shivaji the virtuous qualities of honouring women, obedience towards one’s parents, sacrifices and servitude for the country. Mr. Baghel said that it is such a joyful occasion that away from our country, we are celebrating Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary in New York. Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra are neighbouring states. There was a time when Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh were part of Barar region. Even at present, many marathi families are residing in various districts of Chhattisgarh, and Shivaji Jayanti is celebrated with zeal and fervour in Chhattisgarh as well.
On the occasion, Chhattisgarh Government’s Chief Secretary Mr. RP Mandal, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Gaurav Dwivedi, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma and officials of Consulate General of India were also present.
