US President Donald Trump has said that he really likes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leaders would be talking business during his upcoming visit to India. He said this while addressing a rally in Colorado yesterday. The two leaders are likely to discuss the entire gamut of bilateral issues including defence, security, and trade.
The bilateral India-US trade in goods and services is about three percent of the US’ world trade. The relationship between India and the United States has evolved to one of the most consequential relationships today. It is a strategic partnership based on shared values and geared towards the 21st century. Whether in countering terrorism or in ensuring a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific, India and the U.S. have unprecedented convergence of interests.
President Donald Trump will visit India along with first lady Melania Trump. He will begin his maiden visit to India from Ahmedabad on the 24th of this month. The two-day visit is also going to be the first stand alone visit by a US President to India. The External Affairs Ministry has said that India is eagerly awaiting US President Donald Trump’s visit and has expressed confidence that it will provide an opportunity to review bilateral ties and further strengthen the global strategic partnership.

The Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera Ahmedabad will host the Namaste Trump Event on the first day of President Trump’s India visit. It is set to be the world’s largest cricket stadium with a capacity of 1.10 lakh people. The stadium is also unique for its sustainable design and has received the gold green certificate from the Indian Green Building Council. It is the first stadium to be provisionally certified gold in accordance with IGBC standards.
