Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana begins on May 21, State’s farmers will get big relief: Rs 5700 crore will be deposited through DBT

Chhattisgarh government is launching justice scheme for farmers on the occasion of martyrdom day of Late Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Shri Rajiv Gandhi on May 21. Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi from Delhi will participate in the launch program of this scheme through video conferencing. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and members of the cabinet will pay floral tributes at the oil painting of late Shri Rajiv Gandhi at 12 noon in the program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence office. After this, out of the amount of Rs. 5700 crores given to the farmers, the first installment will be made online transfer of Rs. 1500 crores to the accounts of the farmers. MPs, MLAs, other people’s representatives, farmers and beneficiaries of various schemes will also be involved in video conferencing in the program.
     
       Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel also reviewed the preparations being made for the launch of the scheme at his residence office here today with senior officials.
 
        It is worth noting that Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country which is providing relief of 5700 crore rupees directly to farmers by transferring funds to bank accounts. In the time of Corona crisis, the Chhattisgarh government is going to provide great relief through the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana. The objective of this scheme is to encourage crop production and to give farmers the right price for their produce.

           At the beginning of the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel’s program, Rajiv Gandhi will give a brief speech on the Kisan Nyaya Yojana. Out of the amount of Rs 5700 crores given to the farmers in the program, the amount of Rs 1500 crores as the first installment will be transferred to the farmers’ accounts. On this occasion, the beneficiaries of the scheme present in the district headquarters as well as members of women self-help groups, beneficiaries of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and Small Forest Produce and farmers of sugarcane and maize will be discussed through video conferencing.

          This ambitious scheme is being implemented by the Government of Chhattisgarh to give impetus to the rural economy and create new employment opportunities in the field of agriculture. This scheme will not only boost crop production in the state, but farmers will also get the right price for their produce. Under this scheme, Rs. 5700 crore will be transferred directly to their accounts in four installments to 19 lakh farmers of the state. This scheme is one of its kind in the country to encourage farmers for farming.
         
      In order to encourage farmers to cultivate crops through this scheme, the State Government, from Kharif 2019, farmers who cultivate paddy and maize in a proportionate manner at the rate of maximum Rs. 10 thousand per acre, depending on the quantity acquired through cooperative society Amount will be given Under this scheme 18 lakh 34 thousand 834 farmers will be provided Rs 1500 crore as first installment for paddy crop. 9 lakh 53 thousand 706 marginal farmers, 5 lakh 60 thousand 284 small farmers and 3 lakh 20 thousand 844 big farmers will be benefitted from the scheme.

     Similarly, for sugarcane crop, payment of FRP amount of Rs 261 per quintal and incentive and input support amounting to Rs 93.75 per quintal i.e. maximum Rs 355 per quintal, depending on the amount of sugarcane purchased by the cooperative factory in the crushing year 2019-20. Will be done. Under this, 34 thousand 637 farmers of the state will get Rs 73 crore 55 lakh in four installments. In which the first installment amounting to Rs 18.43 crore will be transferred on 21 May.
     The Government of Chhattisgarh is also going to provide incentive money (outstanding bonus) at the rate of Rs 50 per quintal based on the quantity of sugarcane purchased through cooperative sugar factories in the year 2018-19. Under this, an amount of Rs 10 crore 27 lakh will be given to 24 thousand 414 farmers of the state. The state government has also decided to provide benefits to the farmers of maize crop acquired in Kharif 2019 through the cooperative society, Lamps. Maize crop data is being taken, on the basis of which they will be paid in the next installment.

     Under the scheme, the state government has included sugarcane crops in paddy, maize, soyabean, groundnut, sesame, pigeonpea, moong, urad, kulthi, ramatil, kodo, kotki and rabi from kharif 2020. The government has also said that if the farmer taking the grant takes paddy crop last year and replaces the paddy with other crops included in the scheme this year, then in such a situation they will be given additional assistance per acre.

      In order to make the state’s economy dynamic and strong, Chhattisgarh government has transferred an amount of Rs 900 crore to farmers in their accounts in times of crisis like lockdown, crop insurance and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the state government has waived Rs 8800 crore loan of about 18 lakh farmers before it, as well as relief has been provided to farmers by taking steps like four times compensation on agricultural land acquisition, irrigation tax waiver.
