24 June 2020: Petrol-diesel prices continue to rise amidst a slight rise in crude prices in the international market. However, for the first time in the capital Delhi, the price of diesel has exceeded Petrol. The price of diesel has been increased by 48 paisa per liter. Oil marketing companies raised the price of diesel on Wednesday, but have not made any changes in the price of petrol. With this increase, the price of diesel has increased by Rs 10.48 per liter in the last 18 days, while petrol has also become costlier by Rs 8.50 per liter.
Diesel price also increased for the 18th consecutive day. Due to this, diesel has become costlier than petrol in Delhi. However, there was no increase in the price of petrol today. For the last 17 days, the prices of these two fuels were continuously increasing. There was no increase in the price of petrol on Wednesday, while diesel rose 48 paise to Rs 79.88 per liter, while petrol is Rs 79.76.
Petrol-diesel prices have been steadily increasing in the domestic market for most of the last 18 days, despite softening crude oil prices. Currently, the price of Indian basket crude oil is hovering around $ 40 per barrel. Explain that the tax on petrol and diesel in Delhi was the lowest in the country till April, while it was the highest in Mumbai.
