New Delhi (Online Desk). PM Modi on Friday expressed his opinion on the new education policy. He said that the new education policy of the country has been prepared keeping the self-respect of every person of India. He also emphasized that it is not enough to make this education policy on paper only but it is a big challenge to implement it properly. For this, constant discussions will have to be done and correct suggestions will have to be made and a strategy and roadmap will be prepared for their implementation. In his address he also congratulated the former ISRO Chairman Dr. K Kasturirangan and his team for formulating this education policy. He said that till now education had been the focus on what to think but how education is being emphasized in today’s education policy. This task was not easy.
The Prime Minister had his views while addressing the Vice Chancellors of Universities, Directors of Higher Educational Institutions and Colleges across the country. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre and Chairman of the policy framing committee K Kasturirangan were also present on the occasion. The conclave was organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and University Grants Commission (UGC). During this time issues like new education policy, future education, research were discussed. It has been called a policy to strengthen the foundation of the future. Let’s know some points.
Describing this conclave as very important, PM Modi said that it will provide detailed information about the new education policy NEP. The clearer the information is, the easier it will be to implement it. It has been accepted after 3-4 years of deliberation and brainstorming. Today it is being discussed all over the country. People from different ideologies and regions are giving their views on this, and a healthy debate is taking place. The new education policy (NEP) will benefit from this.
He said that after coming to this education policy, it was not revealed by any section that anything in it was one sided. This shows that the changes that we wanted to see in the NEP which has been going on in the country for years, are happening. This is a good sign. However, there are definitely questions on the implementation of this in the minds of some people. In view of this, improvement will need to be made in making arrangements.
PM Modi told the makers of the new education policy that all of you are directly involved in implementing it. Your role is quite high. As far as political leadership is concerned, I am fully with you. Every country goes ahead by improving education according to its goals. Its only aim is to prepare the country’s education policy for the future. This is also the basis of India’s education policy.
The New Education Policy (NEP) will create a new 21st century foundation. This policy will provide education to the youth of 21st century India. Its focus is also on this. Apart from this, special emphasis has been laid on making the country strong, taking it to new heights of development, providing more opportunities to the youth. After this new education policy, the student of India will be able to study according to the fast changing times and their needs and will be able to play an important role in making the country stand up.
There has been no change in the education policy in the last several years, because of which only the competition is going on. Currently, interest, ability and demand mapping needs to be done. It is important to know about the philosophy of Purpose of Education in addition to our students’ critical and innovative thinking. The highest education is that which not only informs us but also brings harmony in our lives. The goal of NEP is linked to this. This requires comprehensive thinking rather than thinking in pieces. The new education policy has been right in putting it clearly in front.
When the NEP has taken concrete shape today, the question is whether this policy makes a creative commitment. You know the answer to this question better. Apart from this, there was a question in front of us whether these education policy empowers. You also know the answer better. I have a feeling that while making the NEP these works were seriously done. A new world order is coming up with the changing times. Global standard is being prepared. For this, changes in India’s education were necessary.
