New Delhi. More than 65 crore beneficiaries are getting benefited under One Nation One Ration Card, the ambitious scheme of Modi government. So far, ration card portability facility has been made available among 24 states in the country. This is the dream project of PM Modi. On August 15, Modi had mentioned this plan in his speech from the Red Fort. Recently, states like Manipur, Nagaland, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand were associated with this scheme.
65 crore people took advantage of this scheme
On Thursday, Union Consumer and Food Affairs Minister Ralvilas Paswan (Ram Vilas Paswan, Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution) has tweeted this information. Paswanan wrote in his tweet, ‘India leading one nation-one ration card. Under the National Food Security Act, more than 65 crore beneficiaries are getting benefits with ration card portability facility among 24 states. The goal is to connect all the states of the country with the One Nation One RationCard scheme by 31 March 2021.
Paswan says that more beneficiaries from this scheme will now have the facility to get their share of grain there, residing anywhere in the states under One Nation One Ration Card. Which will benefit those working in other states
Significantly, by 31 March 2021, 81 crore beneficiaries across the country will get the benefit. The target is to connect all the states of the country with One Nation One Ration Card Scheme by 31 March 2021. Through this system, migrant NFSA beneficiaries who frequently change their place of residence in search of temporary employment etc. have now been given the option to raise their food quota from any fair price shop (FPS) of their choice. All will get benefits under the National Food Security Act.
