Corona virus cases are increasing rapidly in the country. More than 90 thousand new cases are coming up every day. Meanwhile, a letter has been going viral on social media that since September 25, instructions have been given to impose lockdown once again. The government has denied the news of lockdown since 25 September.
These days, a circular called National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is going viral on social media. It states that once again the lockdown will be started from 25 September. The viral letter states, “To prevent the spread of corona virus cases in the country and to reduce the death rate, NDMA along with the Planning Commission urges the Government of India and directs the PMO and the Ministry of Home Affairs on 25 September. Countrywide lockdown should be implemented from midnight to 46 days. NDMA is issuing information to the Ministry to maintain the supply chain of essential commodities in the country.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) tweeted the letter as fake. PIB wrote, ‘This letter is fake. NDMA has not issued any order to implement the lockdown again.
Significantly, a nationwide lockdown was imposed in India at the end of March. The government had implemented a lockdown to prevent cases of corona virus. The lockdown was then reopened in several phases from June. However, schools and colleges are still closed, while the metro, which was closed since March, was given the green signal to run a week ago.
