Due to air pollution in Loni of Ghaziabad, the authorities have frozen 42 illegal metal melting factories. District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey said that this step was taken on the orders of the NGT.

Delhi’s air quality was recorded in poor category on Saturday and 19 percent of the total PM2.5 particles in the atmosphere have come due to burning of stubble, which has increased compared to earlier. Of the total particles of PM 2.5 in the polluting elements, 18 per cent of the particles came into the atmosphere due to burning of starch, while on Wednesday about one per cent and on Tuesday, Monday and Sunday about three per cent of the particles came into the atmosphere due to burning of stubble. The city recorded a 24-hour average air quality index of 286.
On Friday, it was recorded at 239, Thursday at 315 which is the worst since February 12 this year, when AQI was 320. AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, satisfactory between 51 and 100, moderate between 101 and 200, 201 and 300 poor, very poor between 301 and 400, and severe between 401 and 500.
An official of the India Meteorological Department said that the north-west winds are blowing and bringing with them the pollutants produced by burning stubble. According to the Air Quality Monitoring and Weather Forecasting and Research System of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, 882 incidents of stubble burning occurred on Saturday in the areas along the Haryana, Punjab and international borders. It was informed that the share of stubble burning in PM2.5 pollutants was about 19 percent on Saturday.
The Air Quality Early Warning System of the Ministry of Earth Sciences has said that the air circulation index was 10,000 sqm per second on Saturday, which is conducive to the dispersion of pollutants. When the air circulation index is less than six thousand and the average air speed is less than ten km per hour, there is an unfavorable condition for the dispersion of pollutants. On behalf of the system, it was said that the effect of burning stubble on the air quality of the national capital can increase significantly by Monday.
