The Election Legal Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party has sent a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of the state demanding that the state government be stopped from calling a special session of the assembly. Jaiprakash Chandravanshi, Brijesh Pandey and Sharad Mishra along with the state convenor of the cell Nareshchandra Gupta have said in the letter that the government is seeking to influence the by-election of Marwahi assembly by seeking permission from the governor to call a special session of the assembly.
Contrary to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India and in violation of the law, the state government is trying to call a special session of the Legislative Assembly to take policy decisions. BJP leaders have sought to stop the state government from convening a special session of the assembly in view of the facts and circumstances and to allow it only after November 3 to allow free and fair voting in Marwahi.
