Hyundai has finally launched its all-new i20 in India. The price of its petrol variant starts at Rs 6.80 lakh (ex-showroom), while the initial price of the diesel variant has been kept at Rs 8.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It can be purchased in 6 color options (Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Gray, Fairy Red, Stary Knight and Metallic Copper).
Talking about the design, the All New i20 has become much sportier than before. This time the car has been given a sharper look from the first model. The front of the car gets a wider cascading grille, while new headlights have been provided with DRLs. The car now also gets new Z shaped LED taillights. The special thing is that this time this premium hatchback car has been brought with two petrol and one diesel engine option. The 1.2-liter petrol engine variant of the All-New i20 produces 83hp power and 115Nm torque. Its 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine generates 120hp power and 172Nm torque.
Talking about the gearbox, the 1.2 petrol engine variant has been introduced with the option of 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox, while the variant with 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine will get the option of 7 speed DCT automatic gearbox and iMT (clutchless manual) .
Now let’s talk about its most powerful 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder diesel engine, it produces 100hp power and has been brought with a 9 speed manual gearbox. The top-spec Asta (O) trim of this premium hatchback car features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Hyundai BlueLink Connected Car features. This trim offers features such as digital instrument cluster, 7 speaker Bose system, sunroof, wireless phone charging, 6 airbags and Ambient Lightning. The all-new i20 will give a tough competition to premium hatchback segment cars in the Indian market such as Tata Ultros, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz.
