Counting of votes polled in the November 3 by-elections to Dumka and Bermo assembly seats in Jharkhand began at 8 am on Tuesday amidst tight security. Votes are being counted in 18 rounds in Dumka and 17 rounds in Bermo seat in Bokaro district. The fate of 12 candidates in Dumka and 16 nominees in Bermo will be decided today. Around 62.51 percent of total 5.63 lakh voters had exercised their franchise in the by-elections to the two seats.
As per the latest trends, Lois Marandi is leading over Basant Soren on Dumka seat by 1,108 votes while Kumar Jaimangal (Anup Singh) continues to gain the lead over BJP candidate Yogeshwar Mahto “Batul” on Bermo seat by 11,677 votes after eighth round of counting.
-As per trends at 12:30 pm, Lois Marandi was leading over Basant Soren on Dumka seat by 981 votes. While Kumar Jaimangal (Anup Singh) continued to gain the lead over BJP candidate Yogeshwar Mahto “Batul” on Bermo seat by 7,708 votes.
