Delhi-NCR and the threat of second wave in Punjab, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday directed to impose several new restrictions in the state.
This includes night curfew in all towns and cities from 1 December. Also, the penalty for not wearing masks or for not following the rules of social distance has been doubled. The orders will be reviewed on 15 December.
It has been said in the order that the opening time of all hotels, restaurants and marriage palaces will also be till 9.30 am. The curfew will be from 10 am to 5 am. The Chief Minister warned the people not to violate these rules under any circumstances. The spokesman said that for non-compliance of Kovid’s rules, the penalty is being increased from the current Rs 500 to Rs 1,000.
In view of the influx of patients from Delhi for treatment in Punjab, it has also been decided to review the availability of beds in private hospitals of the state. The Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary Vinny Mahajan to work with the departments concerned. At the same time, to further strengthen the availability of oxygen and ICU beds, Captain Amarinder directed to strengthen the L & D and RST by continuously monitoring the districts which are not equipped with facilities. He said that the management systems in GMCH and civil hospitals should also be examined in view of the recommendations of the report received from the expert group.
