The railway board is going to increase the number of trains from January 1. If the corona remains under infection control, 70 percent of the trains will start running. That means more than 8000 passenger trains will start running on the track out of about 12 thousand closed in Lockadan. This will give confirmed seats to more and more passengers. There are few trains currently running, in which passengers are not getting confirmed seats. In some trains, there is no room status, although the railways can further tighten the corona guidelines for traveling in trains.
From Bhopal and Habibganj railway stations of MP till the lockdown, 170 trains of up and down used to pass in twenty four hours, only 62 trains are running now. This is the Mumbai-Delhi and Chennai railways, so at these stations, about 40 per cent of the trains are passing as compared to the total number of trains running on normal days but at other stations there are still 5 to 10 per cent trains stopping. A senior Railway Board official said that the passenger pressure is high on some railroads and there are no confirmed seats in trains. Are considering increasing the number of trains on such railroads. It is not allowed yet. If found, only up to 70 percent of the trains stopped in lockdown on the respective railroads can be run. For this, the time and stations of some trains can be changed according to the requirement.
