With the help of young wicketkeeper batsman Glenn Phillips’ record century innings, New Zealand beat West Indies by 73 runs in the second T20 match to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series. Similar to the mountainous target of 239 runs put by New Zealand, the Windies team could score 166 runs in 9 overs.
The Windies won the toss and decided to bowl first. New Zealand scored 108 from 51 balls with 10 fours and 8 sixes and 238 for 3 with Devon Conway’s unbeaten 65 off 37 balls. Conway hit 4 fours and 4 sixes in 37 balls in his half-century innings.
Phillips and Conway shared a 184-run partnership for the third wicket. Opener Martin Guptil was dismissed for 34 from 23 balls while Tim Seifert was out for 18 from 13 balls. From the windies
