Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain today inquired about the progress of implementation of various schemes operated under the forest department. In this meeting held in the Mahanadi Bhavan, the ministry is mainly involved in the implementation of the schemes related to the ambitious and forest department of the state government, available budget, Discussions were made regarding the benefits to the beneficiaries and the challenges faced in the implementation of the schemes. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi gave detailed information about the activities of the Forest Department. Chief Secretary Shri Jain has directed the departmental officers that necessary steps should be taken to increase the income of minor forest produce collectors of the state. He has given instructions for quality processing and marketing of minor forest produce found in the forests of the state. Shri Jain has instructed to supply green vegetables produced under Bari development for hot food in locally operated schools and Anganwadi centers.
The meeting included Narva development, Recurring grazing scheme (Gauthan), Organic manure production (Ghurwa), Bari development, Godhan Nyaya Yojana (cow dung), River bank planting, F.N. R. A, Biodiversity Board, Wildlife, Small Forest Produce Association, Forest Development Corporation, State Forest Research and Training Institute, Medicinal Plant Board were reviewed. Principal Secretary Mr. Manoj Pingua and senior officials of Forest Department were present in the meeting.
