The counting of votes for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is going on on Friday. 1,122 candidates are in the fray for GSMC’s 150 seats. The corporation election this time is very special because the central leadership of the BJP government at the center has given its full strength in this election. At the same time, in the initial trends, BJP has won a majority. The BJP is ahead in 77 seats. Apart from this, TRS is ahead in 34 seats and AIMIM in 17 seats. At the same time, Congress is ahead in only one seat.
Early trends led BJP to 30 seats and TRS to 15 seats. On the other hand, Owaisi’s AIMIM has not got a single seat.
