Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Thursday held an interaction with students in a webinar session. The minister addressed many concerns of students including NEET and JEE exams while also replied to many questions of students.
In the webinar, Pokhriyal said that there is no plan to cancel the Medical entrance test — NEET 2021. Replying to another question, the minister said that his ministry is considering to hold JEE Mains in multiple sessions.
Using #EducationMinisterGoesLive, students asked regarding CBSE Board Exam 2021, JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021.
Medical and Engineering students urged the Education Minister to announce JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021 syllabus and also postponement of the entrance exams.
Pokhriyal made it clear that there are no plans to cancel the NEET 2021 examination.
“NEET 2021 will not be cancelled because it will be a big loss for the students and the nation.” said Ramesh Pokhriyal.
“We postponed NEET thrice in 2020 and gave students an opportunity to change their exam centres. We could have cancelled the exam but it would have been a great loss for students and the country,” the minister added.
Addressing concerns of JEE Main and NEET 2021 students, Pokhriyal said that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is discussing possibility of
conducting these exams in an online mode, if the situation remains the same.
This year the JEE 2020 exam was conducted online, however, the NEET 2020 was held in pen-paper mode.
