For the last several days, farmers have surrounded the capital Delhi with regard to agricultural laws. Even after several rounds of talks with the Center, no consensus has been reached. Farmers are demanding cancellation of laws, while the government says that amendment of the bill is possible, it cannot be canceled. Now it has been knocked to the Supreme Court.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union has moved the Supreme Court against all the three disputed laws. By filing a petition, Bhakyu has challenged all three agricultural bills in the Supreme Court. The petition claimed that new agricultural laws are pushing the sector towards privatization.
Farmers and the government are still face to face against the three agricultural laws passed by the Center. The farmers are determined that if the government withdraws the entire law, then the government says that the law cannot be withdrawn but amendments can be made. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has also reiterated the point of continuing the dialogue.
However, the first several rounds of talks have been inconclusive. Now, where the Supreme Court has also been knocked by the farmers.
