A 12-year-old boy allegedly hanged himself after his father took away his cell phone over his dependancy to a sport in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district, police stated on Tuesday.
The Class 4 pupil dedicated suicide at his residence in Dhana village, about 20 km from the district headquarters, on Monday, extra superintendent of police (ASP) Vikram Singh stated.

According to the boy’s mother and father, he was hooked on enjoying a sport referred to as Free Fire, for which he was reprimanded, the official stated.
The boy’s father Sitaram Patel, who’s a road meals vendor, confiscated the telephone on Monday in an try to cease him from enjoying the sport, Dhana police submit in-charge Neeraj Jain stated.
The little one used a towel to hold himself in a room at his residence, whereas his mom was cooking in one other room, the official stated.

A case has been registered on this regard and additional probe is underway, the ASP stated.
Meanwhile, the boy’s father appealed that the federal government ought to ban such video games.
“My child got depressed whenever we stopped him from playing the game. I don’t want such an incident to happen again. I request the government to ban such games,” Patel stated.
