New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi devoted the Kochi – Mangaluru Natural Gas Pipeline to the nation through video conferencing on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Modi has stated that the ” futuristic mission will positively influence many individuals.”
Governors and Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Kerala, together with Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan was current on the event.
According to the PMO, the 450 km lengthy pipeline has been constructed by GAIL (India) Ltd. It has a transportation capability of 12 Million Metric Standard Cubic Metres per day and can carry pure gasoline from the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Regasification Terminal at Kochi (Kerala) to Mangaluru (Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka), whereas passing by Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
The whole value of the mission was about Rs 3000 crore and its development created over 12 lakh man-days of employment. Laying of the pipeline was an engineering problem because the route of the pipeline necessitated it to cross water our bodies at greater than 100 places. This was completed by a particular approach referred to as the Horizontal Directional Drilling technique.
The pipeline will provide environment-friendly and inexpensive gasoline within the type of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to households and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to the transportation sector. It can even provide Natural Gas to industrial and industrial models throughout the districts alongside the pipeline. Consumption of cleaner gasoline will assist in enhancing air high quality by curbing air air pollution.
