Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (DMA) has issued excessive, medium and low stage avalanche warning for the upper reaches of the avalanche inclined areas within the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir. A excessive hazard stage avalanche warning has been issued for the upper reaches of Poonch, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Kupwara Bandipora and Kulgam districts.
Similarly, medium stage avalanche warning has been issued for the upper reaches of Rajouri, Udhampur, Ganderbal and Reasi districts.
As such, folks residing in these areas have been suggested to take precautions and keep away from going to the susceptible areas and to take away snow from their rooftops to keep away from lack of lives.

Heavy snowfall for the previous 4 days has thrown life out of substances throughout the Kashmir area. The Srinagar-Jammu freeway continues to stay blocked and flights at Srinagar airport have been cancelled.
