Asserting that the present should go on regardless of the pandemic scenario, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday mentioned celebrity Shah Rukh Khan will grace the digital inauguration of the twenty sixth Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) on January 8.
The seven-day competition will start by paying tribute to 2 greats – auteur Satyajit Ray on his start centenary, and iconic Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who died of post-COVID issues in November final yr.

Satyajit Ray’s traditional Apur Sansar, which was Soumitra Chatterjee’s debut movie, can be screened on the inauguration.
A complete of 131 movies — in characteristic, quick and documentary codecs — can be screened at choose state-run theatres of the town, together with Nandan and Rabindra Sadan.
