Former Minister and veteran Congress chief Ok Ok Ramachandran died of a coronary heart assault early on Thursday, occasion sources stated. He was 78.
Popularly generally known as Ramachandran Master, the Congress chief had represented the occasion as an MLA six occasions – thrice from Kalpetta and thrice from Sultan Bathery Assembly constituency.
Native of Koothuparamba in Kannur district, Ramachandran Master entered lively politics after quitting his job as a trainer in 1980.
He was secretary of Kozhikode District Congress Committee.
He was Minister for Food & Civil Supplies within the A Ok Antony Ministry from 1995 and Health Minister within the Oommen Chandy Ministry from 2004. He resigned in 2006.
Later, following variations of opinion with the occasion, he was ousted from Congress in 2011.
Though he was reinstated within the occasion after a few years, he was denied any place.
