MAJRI POLICE booked two individuals for his or her alleged involvement in unlawful sand mining Thursday.
The accused had been stated to be drivers of tipper vans which had been seized by police.
The case was registered on the grievance of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Parminder Kumar. He stated that they had arrange a naka close to Sialba Majri and noticed two tipper vans approaching in the direction of them.
The police get together stopped the tippers and requested the drivers to indicate them paperwork citing permission for carrying sand.
The complainant alleged that the drivers couldn’t present any paperwork and had been carrying sand illegally.
Police then registered an FIR in opposition to the truck drivers, recognized as Jaspal Singh and Pappu Rai, beneath sections 379 (theft) of IPC and sections 4 (1) and 21 (1) of the Mining Act. Both had been arrested on the spot.
