The Uttarakhand High Court has put a keep on the denotification of the Shivalik Elephant Reserve—the state’s solely jumbo reserve.

Chief Wildlife Warden J S Suhag had stated that even after the notification is canceled, the realm will stay a reserve forest and guidelines of the Forest Conservation Act will stay relevant there.
Another official stated that an elephant reserve is not like a tiger reserve the place there are restrictions and punishments for violating them.
“Certain formalities of obtaining clearances for development work will get reduced after cancellation of the notification,” the official stated.
