A neighborhood police group is in Mumbai after the registration of a case towards makers of internet sequence “Mirzapur” for allegedly outraging non secular sentiments and scary the breach of peace, a senior official stated on Friday. Mirzapur Range IG Piyush Kumar instructed PTI that within the FIR lodged on January 17, it has been alleged that the net sequence tried to malign the picture of Mirzapur, which is a historic and spiritual place, having no relation with crime as proven in it.
Arvind Chaturvedi, a resident of Chilbila in Chunar, stated in his criticism that the individuals of the place are peace loving and hardworking.
“A team has been formed under Inspector (Dehat Kotwali) Vijay Kumar Chaurasiya. The team includes Sub-Inspector Alok Kumar and Constable Vinay Kumar. The team is already in Mumbai and trying to seek the help of the Mumbai Police in the case lodged against the web series,” the IG stated.
The FIR was lodged underneath Sections 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, supposed to outrage non secular emotions of any class by insulting its faith or non secular beliefs), 504 (intentional insult with intent to impress breach of the peace) and 505 (statements conducing to public statements to mischief of the IPC, together with sections of the Information Technology Act.
Meanwhile, Apna Dal spokesperson Rajesh Patel stated the problem was first raised by his social gathering president Anupriya Patel in Delhi on the time of the discharge of the net sequence.
BJP authorized cell member Dilip Shrivastava stated, “Web sequence makers have deliberately tried to malign the place because the state authorities is making an attempt to develop it as a giant tourism centre.”
The Supreme Court too on Thursday had sought responses from the Centre, Amazon Prime Video and Excel Entertainment Pvt Ltd on a plea which has alleged that the net sequence has “completely tarnished” the historic and cultural picture of the place by displaying it as a “city of goons”.
Mirzapur is understood for its Vindyachal temple devoted to the goddess Durga.
