Colonel Santosh Babu, martyred in a fierce conflict with Chinese troops in japanese Ladakh final 12 months, has been posthumously honoured with Maha Vir Chakra on the event of Republic Day. Santosh commanded the 16 Bihar Regiment. Major Anuj Sood, who misplaced his life in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir in May 2020, has been awarded Shaurya Chakra posthumously.
