Two individuals have died whereas two others had been taken unwell, one among them severely, after consuming suspected spurious liquor in Kaimur district of Bihar. The sale and consumption of alcohol in Bihar was banned by the Nitish Kumar authorities in April 2016. Four individuals had fallen unwell after consuming suspected spurious liquor in Kurasan village below Bhabhua police station on Thursday night, Tauhid, a resident of Kurasan village, stated.
The deceased have been recognized as Lalu Bind (42) and Ram Kesri Kohar (50), he stated, including that the situation of the third particular person is said to be critical and admitted in Sadar hospital.
Dharmendra Kahar, who was among the many 4 individuals who had consumed liquor within the village, is being handled at a personal hospital. He stated that he together with four-five individuals had taken liquor in Kurasan village on Thursday night.
Bhabhua Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sunita Kumari stated that she would have the ability to say something solely after getting the autopsy report of the deceased individuals.
Local individuals say that it is not identified whether or not the suspected spurious liquor was made regionally or was imported from someplace else.
Notably, the state authorities had on April 5, 2016, banned the manufacture, commerce, storage transportation, sale, consumption of liquor together with IMFL within the state and made it a punishable offence for these violating the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act 2016 which was amended in 2018.
