India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane on Friday steered away from the controversy surrounding home stalwart and his former Mumbai teammate Wasim Jaffer, who’s preventing allegations of making an attempt to push religion-based picks throughout his stint as Uttarakhand coach.
Jaffer, who stop as Uttarakhand coach owing to a dispute with the state affiliation, has rejected the cost by the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand officers that he favoured Muslim gamers within the group.
“Sir, I don’t have an idea regarding this issue, what has happened, so I don’t think that I should comment on this topic, because I don’t have an idea,” Rahane mentioned on the digital press convention on the eve of the second Test towards England.
Rahane and Jaffer, who’s the main run-getter in Ranji Trophy, have collectively performed for Mumbai and the West Zone. They even have performed collectively for the Indian Oil Corporation.
Rahane expects the Chepauk pitch to supply critical flip from the very first day of the second Test towards England.

“We are really working hard on what we can control. In India, close-in catches are really important and sometimes these things happen. No one does it intentionally, it’s all about how confident you are. Close in catches are really important.”
