It appears two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders have turned to their outdated guards to sprung the workforce again to life after years of a barren title run as Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was purchased again by the franchise for INR 3.2 crore on the 2021 IPL public sale in Chennai on Thursday.
This would be the 33-year-old former Bangladesh captain’s return to the gold- and purple-clad outfit after 4 years as Shakib was launched by KKR in 2018 season — after having fun with two title success — and was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad on the subsequent public sale.
In the 43 matches he performed for KKR, the left-handed batsman scored 498 runs, together with two half-centuries, whereas scoring at a strike fee of 130.87. As far as bowling is worried, he picked 43 wickets at a mean of 25.17.
