Farmer chief Rakesh Tikait has stated their agitation will proceed until the three contentious agriculture legal guidelines are withdrawn. He was talking in Ramrajn city right here to mark the completion of 100 days of farmers’ protests on the Delhi borders towards the central farm legislations.
The farmers are demanding a whole withdrawal of the three farm legal guidelines and the agitation will proceed until the federal government meets our calls for, Tikiat stated on Saturday.
On the event, he flagged off a tractors’ rally, which, he stated, will journey throughout districts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and can attain farmers’ protest web site in Ghazipur on March 27.
Meanwhile, Union minister and Member of Parliament from Muzaffarnagar Sanjeev Balyan stated the three agri legal guidelines shall be useful for the farmers.
If a single farmer’s land is taken away as a result of farm legal guidelines, I’ll resign as an MP. The legal guidelines have been enacted in accordance with the desires of the farmers, he stated.
Thousands of farmers have been protesting since late November on the Delhi borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, demanding a rollback of the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; Farmers’ (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
The protesting farmers have expressed apprehension that these legal guidelines would pave the best way for the dismantling of the minimal help value (MSP) system, leaving them on the “mercy” of massive companies.
However, the federal government has maintained that the brand new legal guidelines will convey higher alternatives to farmers and introduce new applied sciences in agriculture.
