Two youngsters died in a hearth that broke out at a JJ cluster in Bahlolpur village, Noida Phase III, on Sunday afternoon. According to Noida police, round 163 shanties had been gutted.
The victims had been recognized as Paro (2) and Doldol (6), daughters of a migrant labourer, Shravan, from Bihar. All the shanties within the space had been occupied by migrant labourers from Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh who labored within the industrial space within the area.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and introduced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for every sufferer.
Harish Chander, DCP Central Noida, stated: “Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused in a few hours. We found bodies of two minors who, it appears, were asleep when the fire broke out. The bodies are being sent for a post mortem.”
According to police, the reason for the fireplace prima facie seems to have been attributable to a brief circuit or a cylinder that burst. Locals, in the meantime, alleged that an individual left the gasoline on at their dwelling which led to the huge hearth.
Officials stated 12 hearth engines had been deployed however placing out the fireplace took time because of robust winds. The blaze was lastly doused by 4.30 pm.
Kusum Devi, an eyewitness, stated: “I had just come out after a bath when I heard people shouting that a nearby jhuggi had caught fire. We rushed to douse it but everything was burnt down within minutes.”
Police stated they haven’t acquired any grievance up to now. Uma Shankar Singh, City Magistrate, stated: “As per a survey done in the evening, we estimate that 163 houses were impacted by the fire. Our team is coordinating to provide assistance to the families.”
In the night, police and administration, together with NGOs, offered meals and blankets to these affected.
