Per week after the Income Tax Department’s much-publicized new e-filing portal went dwell, customers continued to face technical glitches starting from longer than normal logging time, incapability to reply to notices and never all options functioning but, chartered accountants mentioned on Monday.
The new portal, http://www.incometax.gov.in, was launched final Monday, June 7, which the tax division, in addition to the federal government, mentioned was geared toward making compliance extra taxpayer-friendly.
But customers complained of technical points going through the location from the very first day and never all the things has been fastened even after per week, chartered accountants (CAs) mentioned, including that taxpayers are unable to view previous e-filed returns and lots of options/ services proceed to be marked “coming soon”.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman herself had requested Infosys – the seller which created the portal – and its Chairman Nandan Nilekani to repair the technical glitches.
A day after the launch of the Income Tax Department’s new tax submitting portal, social media customers had flagged glitches within the new e-filing portal to the finance minister.
Following that, Sitharaman took to Twitter and requested Infosys and its chairman to repair the issue.
Replying to the tweet, Nilekani had mentioned Infosys is working to repair the glitches.
Infosys was in 2019 awarded a contract to develop the next-generation earnings tax submitting system to scale back processing time for returns from 63 days to at some point and expedite refunds.
