As filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s 2009 film Love Aaj Kal clocks 12 years on Saturday, actor Deepika Padukone reminisced about taking part in Meera, a personality she mentioned resonated with many ladies on the time.
The romantic-drama, that includes Saif Ali Khan because the male lead, drew parallels between two love tales – one set within the Nineteen Sixties and the opposite within the new millennium.
The 35-year-old actor mentioned the time she spent whereas engaged on the movie nonetheless brings a smile on her face. “I can’t believe it’s been 12 years since ‘Love Aaj Kal’ (released) already! Meera, I believe, was simply beautiful; inside out. A character many related to at the time. Just reminiscing about all those months we spent filming in Delhi and London, brings a smile to my face,” Padukone mentioned in an announcement.
Produced by Khan and Dinesh Vijan, the movie was well-received by each the critics and the audiences.
In 2020, Ali directed a up to date tackle the movie with an identical theme of two love tales – one set in Udaipur within the early 90s and the opposite in modern-day Delhi. The film, that includes actors Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, obtained a lukewarm response.
