Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Nattu Kaka aka actor Ghanshyam Nayak handed away on Sunday following an extended battle with most cancers. Producer Asit Kumarr Modi shared the information on Twitter, posting the actor’s picture and writing “Om Shanti” in Hindi.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah creator Asit Kumarr Modi mourned the demise of Ghanshyam Nayak. In a press release, he mentioned, “Ghanashyam Nayak (Nattu kaka) and I go a long way back and our families also were related. His passing away is a loss personally to me as well as for the show. Through the years, he kept motivating and encouraging me and, he himself was very happy with the role he was playing in the show. His absence will be felt by everyone and is a big loss for the entire team. We pay homage to a great actor and a great human being and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this painful time.”
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah director Malav Rajda shared her fond reminiscences of Ghanshyam Nayak. She took to Instagram and wrote, “Ghanshyam bhai know you since i was a child wen u use to do plays with my dad…loved you then and loved you now..and you will always be loved by everyone who knew you…still have to come across such a jovial, lovable and a selfless man like you…thank you for always showering ur love and blessings on me…you will be really missed a lot…love you natu kaka..”

We take him to the hospital for the session just once a month. We will get a PET scan done again next month and I hope those spots are gone,” his son instructed Spotboye.
