Three-member gang held for honey-trapping, extorting cash from aged man in Kerala

PATHANAMTHITTA: A 3-member gang together with a lady was arrested by the police for honey-trapping and extorting cash from an aged man at Mangaram close to Pandalam on Saturday. The arrested individuals have been recognized as Sindhu, 39, Midhu, 25, and Arun Krishnan, 24, all residents of Adoor within the district.

According to Panalalam Police Inspector S Sreekumar, the 76-year-old complainant had posted an commercial on social media in October on the market of land. Sindhu and Midhu had approached the aged man in November posing as potential consumers. During the go to, the lady behaved seductively and Midhu had taken some photos of her sitting near the complainant.

Later, the duo approached the complainant and demanded cash threatening to submit the images on social media. The aged man had given two financial institution cheques of Rs 2 lakh every to them on this event. On December 9, Arun Krishnan, the third accused, visited the aged man and launched himself as a police officer. Arun stated he got here to analyze the grievance filed by Sindhu. He threatened to file a case if the aged man did not pay the quantity demanded by Sindhu.

After the accused left the home, the aged man knowledgeable his son, who lodged a grievance with Pandalam police on December 10. Police arrested the trio on Saturday and produced them within the Adoor Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. They wereremanded in judicial custody.
