BHUBANESWAR: Amid a pointy rise in COVID-19 instances, the Odisha authorities on Sunday stated that it was withholding its choice to reopen colleges for college kids of Classes 1 to five from Monday.

School and mass training minister S R Dash, in an announcement, stated the choice was taken after officers visited varied main colleges throughout the state and held discussions with tthe stakeholders.

“Keeping in view the rise in number of daily cases and based on the feedback provided by parents across the state, we have decided not to reopen schools for students of Classes 1 to 5 from January 3,” he acknowledged.

Dash, nonetheless, maintained that bodily lessons for college kids of lessons 6 to 10 will proceed for now.

He additionally stated that offline examination, as scheduled earlier, can be carried out adhering to COVID-19 protocols.

Odisha on Sunday registered 424 extra coronavirus instances.
