Nagarjuna Akkineni and his son, Naga Chaitanya, stated that Telugu cinema may seem like sexist in nature to some audiences as a result of so much is misplaced in translation. In an interview with Film Companion, Nagarjuna stated that as a result of so many songs are translated actually, the essence of their which means is misplaced. He stated an analogous scenario would occur when Punjabi songs get literal translations.
In the interview, host Anupama Chopra stated that whereas Telugu cinema has developed massively lately, a ‘soft spot’ is the portrayal of ladies. “Telugu language is such, if you translate it literally into English, it is going to look very, very sexist,” Nagarjuna stated, including that he has ‘tried to analyse this’ with many individuals. Chaitanya stated that he’ll put his foot down if requested to ‘portray something wrong about women or society’. As an actor, Nagarjuna stated, he completely agrees together with his son, however ‘boundaries change for different people’.
