Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar handed away on Sunday. Mangeshkar was cremated on Sunday night at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park with full state honours. On Monday, her nephew Adinath Mangeshkar was snapped carrying her ashes.
Adinath Mangeshkar introduced again her ashes in an earthen pot lined with pink fabric, as per Hindu rituals. Adinath belongs to the third technology of the Mangeshkar household. He is the son of Lata Mangeshkar’s brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar. Hridaynath lit her pyre on Sunday after the movie fraternity and the nation paid wealthy tributes to the singer.

Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the ICU of Breach Candy Hospital in early January. She was affected by Covid-19 and pneumonia. Fondly referred to as the ‘Nightingle of India’, she handed away following multi-organ failure on the age of 92.
In a profession spanning nearly eight a long time, Lata Mangeshkar lent her voice to hundreds of songs in 36 languages. The authorities of India bestowed her with the nation’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna.
As a mark of respect, a two-day nationwide mourning has been introduced. The National Flag will fly at half-mast for 2 days and there will likely be no official leisure.
Veteran singer Asha Bhosle penned an emotional submit following elder sister Lata Mangeshkar’s demise. “Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the. Didi and I (What amazing days they were during our childhood),” Bhosle wrote within the caption of the childhood picture of herself sitting on a desk and Lata standing beside her.
