BHUBANESHWAR: With the state of affairs remaining grim in Ukraine following the Russian assault, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday sought the assistance of the centre for evacuation of scholars and labourers stranded within the war-torn nation.
The Chief Minister spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the phone this morning and requested him for the secure evacuation of scholars and labourers from Odisha.
A launch from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) mentioned that Shah assured the Chief Minister that the Centre is in contact with the Ukraine authorities and dealing to convey again college students and labourers on the earliest.
More than 1500 college students from Odisha are caught within the conflict zones of Ukraine. Most of the scholars are pursuing MBBS within the National Medical University of Kharkiv and Kyiv Medical University. Families again residence right here had appealed to the state authorities and the Centre to take pressing steps for the secure evacuation of their family members.
