Facebook introduced on Friday that it might ban Russian state media shops from promoting or monetising their content material on the social media community in response to the battle in Ukraine.
The restriction was revealed in an announcement from the corporate’s head of safety, who stated, “We also continue to apply labels to additional Russian state media. These changes have already begun rolling out and will continue into the weekend.”

Nathaniel Gleicher, head of safety coverage at FB, stated, “We are now prohibiting Russian state media from running ads or monetising on our platform anywhere in the world. We also continue to apply labels to additional Russian state media. These changes have already begun rolling out and will continue into the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine and will keep sharing steps we are taking to protect people on our platform.”
