BHUBANESWAR: The ruling BJD has demanded recounting of votes in Zilla Parishad zone-33 in Bishoi block of Mayurbhanj district.
In a memorandum submitted to the State Election Commission (SEC), a delegation of BJD alleged that large-scale irregularities have been dedicated by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supporters within the sales space.
There was rigging and votes have been forged within the title of useless voters, it stated and added that the JMM candidate received from the sales space due to such irregularities.
BJD has received 25 out of 26 zilla parishad (ZP) zones within the district, counting of votes of which have been held in Saturday. Only one seat, ZP zone quantity 33 had gone in favour of the JMM candidate.
