Odisha: Portion of flyover caves in; three injured, extra feared trapped beneath particles

CUTTACK: At least three folks had been injured and a few others had been suspected to have been trapped beneath the particles as a portion of the flyover connecting Chhatra Bazar and Malgodown in Odisha’s Cuttack caved in on Wednesday, police mentioned.

There are not any experiences of any fatality thus far, they mentioned.

Although the injured individuals weren’t but recognized, they’re believed to be both vegetable distributors or each day labourers.

About 20 vegetable distributors used to promote their merchandise on the roadside beneath the flyover, as per locals.

Cuttack District Magistrate cum Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani reached the spot and mentioned, “Three individuals had been rescued and despatched to the hospital.

“The injured persons were immediately shifted to the hospital and an operation to clear the debris is underway,” Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh advised reporters on the incident web site.

He mentioned that the precedence was being given to rescue folks, if any, trapped beneath the particles.

Locals mentioned that the construction was in a dilapidated situation.
