Uttar Pradesh polls: Samajwadi Party, BSP staff create ruckus in Mathura alleging EVM tampering

MATHURA: The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) staff on Tuesday created ruckus after an individual entered the Mandi Committee of Mathura with out an ID card the place Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been saved underneath the CCTV surveillance for the counting of votes tomorrow.

The staff of the 2 events alleged that the individual was tampering with the EVMs and demanded an investigation into the incident.

Speaking to the media individuals, Sanjay Lather, the SP employee stated, “The Election Commission had already decided that nobody will be allowed here without ID cards. But we got to know that a person went inside claiming that he needed to set up a computer system there. No official was present with him. He did not carry an ID card. The district administration should investigate the matter because he was there for four hours which can also lead to tampering with EVMs.”

However, the individual being accused of getting into the premises instructed the media individuals that he went contained in the Mandi Committee for putting in laptop techniques that might be wanted with EVMs in the course of the counting of votes.

“I came here for the installation of computer systems. When I came back, these people standing outside caught me, so I called SDM to reach the spot. I have my ID and permission of officials,” stated, Kanungo, the one that was caught.

The metropolis police official whereas chatting with the media refuted the allegations and claimed that the individual reached the Mandi Committee for the set up of laptop techniques however he forgot to hold his ID card. The counting of votes will happen on March 10.
