RAMPURHAT: Trinamool Congress Rampurhat-1 block president Anarul Hossain was arrested on Thursday in reference to the killings in Bogtui village in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, police stated.
He was arrested from Tarapith within the district inside hours of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directing the police to nab him for not being attentive to native folks’s apprehension of potential disturbance within the space, which finally snowballed into the carnage, a senior officer stated.
Searches had been performed in varied components of the district together with Hossain’s residence, after which he was nabbed from Tarapith. Hossain was picked up from close to a resort after police tracked his cell phone tower location, he stated.
The native TMC chief can be questioned over the incident through which eight folks had been burnt alive on Tuesday, he added.
Meanwhile, Rampurhat police station inspector-in-charge Tridib Pramanik was suspended for negligence.
