WASHINGTON: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar have arrived within the US capital to attend the India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue in Washington on Monday – the primary beneath the Biden administration.
To be held beneath the shadow of the Ukrainian disaster, the two+2 ministerial is reflective of the importance the 2 governments connect to this bilateral relationship, which former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee described as pure allies.
In reality, President Biden has signalled to raise the two+2 ministerial by himself having a digital assembly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the White House on Monday.
The two Indian ministers – Singh and Jaishankar – together with their American counterparts – Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken – are slated to take part within the digital assembly from the White House.
The day would start with Singh being given a red-carpet welcome on the Pentagon by Austin and Blinken assembly Jaishankar on the Foggy Bottom headquarters of the State Department.
Thereafter, the 4 ministers would drive to the White House for the Modi-Biden digital assembly.
During the digital meet, Biden and Modi will focus on cooperation on a variety of points, together with ending the COVID-19 pandemic, countering the local weather disaster, strengthening the worldwide economic system, and upholding a free, open, rules-based worldwide order to bolster safety, democracy, and prosperity within the Indo-Pacific, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki mentioned.
The 2+2 ministerial together with the respective delegations would happen on the State Department within the afternoon.
A joint press convention has been scheduled on the conclusion of the two+2. It could be addressed by Singh and Jaishankar together with Austin and Blinken.
